Jeff Youngblood joined Burgoyne Incorporated in 2008 as a fire investigator. His experience includes over 300 investigations including homicide, arson, bombings and numerous accidental fires.
Jeff began his career in 1982 with the Salisbury Fire Department, receiving a promotion to the rank of Fire Captain in 1987. He was assigned to the Loss Prevention Division in 1995 with the responsibilities of fire scene investigations and code enforcement. Jeff was instrumental in the research, development and implementation of the City of Salisbury Housing Inspections Program and the Rowan-Salisbury Hazardous Materials Team. He was recognized as Veteran Firefighter of the Year in 1997 and received Department Commendations in 1996 and 2005.
Additionally, Jeff worked with the Rockwell Fire Department from 1991 to 2000, serving as Hazardous Materials Officer beginning in 1994. The Rockwell City Fire Department is a paid/volunteer department consisting of 2 paid officers and 30 volunteer officers and firefighters. Jeff was recognized as Rookie of the Year in 1991 and as Firefighter of the Year in 1996.
Jeff received his fire and arson investigation training at the National Fire Academy and the North Carolina Justice Academy. He completed over 7000 hours of fire service training with specialties in investigations, hazardous materials response, fire prevention, and public education. Jeff’s expertise served him well during his tenure as instructor at Rowan/Cabarrus Community College where he taught fire control, hazardous materials and emergency medical courses from 1992 to 1995.
Jeff holds a number of certifications and is a member of several professional organizations to include the International Association of Arson Investigators and the North Carolina Insurance Crime Information Exchange. Jeff continues his community involvement as an Assistant Boy Scout Troup Leader.
