Mitzi McCoy joined Burgoyne Incorporated in 2008 as Marketing Coordinator. Her responsibilities include coordinating and implementing marketing communication projects to include advertising, public relations, special events management, and creating brand awareness.
Mitzi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Augusta State University and an Associate in Claims degree from the Insurance Institute of America. She began her insurance career in 1988 as a claims representative with First of Georgia. She was recognized as Claims Woman of the Year in 1991 by the Insurance Women of Augusta.
In 1996, Mitzi accepted a position with Allstate Insurance Company as a fire claim specialist in the Large Loss Unit where she advocated loss control through mitigation and subrogation. She joined Nationwide Insurance in 2003 as a field underwriter on the Home Care Team. Her duties included estimating dwelling reconstruction cost, coaching homeowners on loss prevention and providing marketing support to the agency sales force. Mitzi was recognized as Home Care Rep of the Year in 2004 for the Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina region.
In addition, Mitzi served with the Martinez Fire Department as fire education officer, fire safety officer and fire investigator. She attained the rank of Sergeant in 1995. Mitzi co-chartered the East Central Georgia and South East Georgia Fire Investigators Associations with fire service personnel.
Upon accepting her appointment to Burgoyne Incorporated, Mitzi combined her marketing, insurance, and fire service experience to expand the US market for Burgoyne Incorporated. She continues her community involvement by serving on the advisory board at Augusta Technical College in the Fire Science Technology Department.
