Mike Davis joined Burgoyne in 2002 as Fire Investigations Manager directly supervising the United States based fire investigations group. In addition, he has personally conducted over 800 origin and cause examinations as instructed by our clients. Mike was promoted to Vice President of Fire Investigations in July of 2009.

Prior to accepting a position with Burgoyne, Mike was employed by Investigative Resources Global as a Fire Investigator. He was promoted to Fire Investigations Manager in 1998, reporting on his own cases and supervising the fire investigation activities of other investigators in the south-central region of the country.

Mike began his career in 1979 by serving 10 years with the Charlotte Police Department followed by 6 years as a fire investigator with the Charlotte Fire Department. His duties included coordinating investigations with Special Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and with Special Agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations. He developed cases for presentation to the Mecklenburg County Assistant District Attorney and the Assistant United States Attorney and has testified in both criminal and civil court as required.

Mike is a Certified Fire Investigator and a Certified Professional Insurance Investigator. He is a licensed Private Investigator in several states in the eastern United States. His training includes courses at the National Fire Academy, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations Academy, as well as seminars through the International Association of Arson Investigators.
